The Scouting Support Team promotes and supports local Scouting across Wales. They work at a grass roots and national level to support the do-ers, give it a go-ers and get back up and try again-ers to achieve their section, Group, District, Area and Regional Plans. They offer resources, guidance, feedback, ideas and gentle challenge so that Scouting can offer amazing, inclusive, safe and inspiring opportunities to more young people across Wales each year. Day to day the team are out and about, working hand in hand with local groups across Wales, helping them grow, adapt and showcase the incredible work that is done by our fantastic teams of volunteers. From supporting new groups and helping to open new sections to Programme support or external workshops and talks with young people, schools and third party stakeholders they are there to help.

Anna Morgan
Governance and Projects Administrator
anna@scoutscymru.org.uk

Anna’s role is vital in ensuring our young people get a great experience in a safe environment as part of the Strategy team. She makes sure that ScoutsCymru practices good governance and follows Charity Law whilst also making us more transparent with effective policies. In her role she can support local executive committees around governance questions as well as making sure trustees feel comfortable and confident in their roles.

The other half of her role is around making sure the organisation follows an effective project management method and supporting our volunteers to project manage successfully. The projects that she supports can be anything from a new way to achieve your Queen’s Scout award to making sure our national events go ahead. She does this through supporting Business and Projects Committee Meeting as well as the various project teams.

Alison Owens
Programme and Operations Administrator
alison@scoutscymru.org.uk

Alison works for ScoutsCymru part time, sits in the operations team and provides administrative support to the Duke of Edinburgh and Queen’s Scout Awards meaning that young people across Wales can achieve their top awards and gain vital Skills for Life. Awards are the main focus of Alison’s work as she works with the programme team around the Dragon Award and Welsh Sectional Awards – if you’ve got a query about one of these, Alison is the person to speak to!

She also supports our growth objectives by producing recruitment materials for the brilliant SSO team to utilise in their local areas. Another key part of her role is to assist local Scouting in attending our national events such as Cub Fun Day and All Wales Scout Camp, plus she’s usually the first voice you’ll hear at the end of the phone when you call our HQ.
