All Wales Scout Camp: sold out but waiting list open – and more volunteers needed

Thank you to everyone who booked places for All Wales Scout Camp – we were completely overwhelmed that it sold out in less than five hours. This is testament to the group of dedicated volunteers who have made the event what it is, going from 350 Scouts at the first camp in 2002 to 1,500 in 2024.

We understand the disappointment for those who were unable to book a space. However, we have reached the maximum capacity of Scouts we can host due to health and safety, and cannot safely accommodate any more Scouts. If you haven’t already, we recommend signing up to the waiting list, so that we can let you know if and when we can accommodate your group.

Currently, groups have given us their provisional numbers. We would ask everyone who has booked to confirm precise numbers as soon as possible so that we can contact those on our waiting list as soon as spaces become available.

As you can imagine, this event requires a huge volunteer team and we are currently looking for volunteer staff to help coordinate the weekend in the different activity zones to ensure all activities can run smoothly, and to help with onsite maintenance. All Wales Scout Camp costs for the weekend will be £35 per Scout early bird price, or £37 for bookings made from Monday 1 April, £12 per leader and young leader, £20 per staff and Explorer Support Team. All those who attend will also receive a complimentary All Wales Scout Camp necker.

Leaders, you will need to factor your own unit costs into the price you give your Scouts, including all food and drink for the weekend, any equipment you may need to buy or hire, and any transport costs for travelling to and from the venue.


Payment schedule

Bookings open on Saturday 20 January at midday (12pm). At this stage you have the opportunity to reserve approximate numbers. We would ask that you are realistic with the places you are likely to fill and don’t overbook ‘just in case’ so that as many Scout groups as possible have the opportunity to book as early as possible.

The deadline for bookings is Wednesday 1 May – although it is likely the All Wales Scout Camp will sell out before this point. If this is the case, you will have the opportunity to join the waiting list and we will notify you as soon as bookings become available.

Staff and Explorer Support Team bookings will close closer to the event, and we’ll keep you updated on this.

The full costs are as follows: 

  • £35 per Scout (early bird price), £37 full price (after 1 April),
  • £12 per leader and young leader
  • £20 per staff member.
  • £23 per Explorer Support Team.

Deposits are as follows: £10 per Scout and £5 per leader

Early bird – the cost is £35 per Scout and £12 per leader. Deposits should be paid ideally with booking or by Sunday 14 April, non-refundable after Friday 3 May.

Full price (after 1 April) – the cost is £37 per Scout and £12 per leader. The deadline for deposit (and full payment) is Friday 3 May.

Final numbers and balance payments for both early bird and full price places must be paid by Friday 3 May at the latest. Payments are non-refundable after this date, other than in exceptional circumstances.

If you are on the reserve list, ScoutsCymru will notify you as soon as possible and payment schedules will be adjusted accordingly.
