The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme (DofE) is a programme of personal development for young people aged between 14 and 25. It can be achieved at three different levels: bronze, silver and gold.
The DofE forms an integral part of the programme offered by Explorer Units and Network and links directly to the Top Awards available for these sections (Chief Scout’s Platinum & Diamond Awards, and the Queen’s Scout Award)
As the DofE awards are external to Scouting all participants have to complete a separate enrolment and pay the relevant fee. Registration for the DofE in Wales through Scouting is completed through individual Explorer Units or Networks, but you can fill in the online registration form here
The costs as of August 2024
Bronze – £28
Silver – £28
Gold – £35
We also offer training courses for leaders in Wales who run DofE and events for those undertaking the Gold award. When these are happening they will be advertised on the events section of our website.
If you have any questions about our Duke of Edinburgh offer in Wales please contact our DofE advisor, Alison Owen-Yeates on admin@scoutscymru.org.uk
