We’re planning an exciting new event for Explorers in Wales – and need a volunteer to head up the team. 

Could you plan, organise and deliver a camp like no other? Do you have skills and experience in managing teams of people?  

If yes, then this could be the perfect opportunity for you. 

The ScoutsCymru programme team is looking to recruit an event lead for a brand-new all-Wales Explorer camp in 2025. You will oversee the successful planning, organisation, and execution of the event, working with the activity, site/service, admin, and other teams involved. The ability to manage and organise effectively, and to lead and motivate teams is essential. It’s a demanding role, starting in the next few weeks, with the camp taking place next summer – but it will be incredibly rewarding, offering a fun and exciting  experience for Explorer Scouts aged 14 to 18.  

This will be a 24-hour event with activities running throughout the night (like how Gilwell24 was run). It’s an opportunity for Explorers to learn new skills, try new activities and network with other Scouts from across the country. 

We will be recruiting other volunteer roles including programme leads, sites leads and people leads. Watch this space or get in touch if you’d like to be involved.
