TAITH-funded trip costs

To be eligible for a Taith-funded trip in 2026, participants must have been born between 2 August 2008 and 1 August 2010.
If you don’t get selected for the Bavaria trip because it is felt that you are not quite ready to take on such a big challenge at this stage of your Scouting journey, don’t worry, we have been successful in securing additional funding and may be able to offer you a place on the ‘Stepping Stones – International Explorer Camp’ in Ireland.
This funded trip is an international opportunity that will provide wrap-around preparation and support and will help build the confidence and practical skills you need to progress to a future Explorer Belt expedition.
These opportunities are designed to open doors for young people who might not usually put themselves forward for an international trip, helping you take the first step into global experiences.

The World Scout Jamboree (WSJ) is a global gathering of Scouts and Guides, held every four years in different countries. It brings together thousands of young people aged 14 to 17 from around the world to celebrate international friendship, cultural exchange, and the spirit of Scouting.

The cost of attending the World Scout Jamboree will be approximately £3,500 and there will be information below on fundraising and potential grant support, in the section below.

If you’d like to be involved in an international trip in 2026 or 2027, you can complete a form TODAY to be considered for our international taster weekend that is being held on 31 October to 2 November 2025. The weekend will be a chance to get a feel for what to expect, meet others who are interested, and learn more about the exciting opportunities coming up.
Spaces for the taster weekend will be limited, so a selection process will take place, and you can apply RIGHT NOW!
The International Taster Weekend will be held at 1st Swansea Valley Scout Group, Penrhiwvarteg Hill, Ystradgynlais, Swansea, SA9 1QB

Please note: Attending the International Taster Weekend is the only route to apply for the Taith-funded international trip to Bavaria or the World Scout Jamboree, as the taster weekend is also the selection weekend for all international trips in 2026 or 2027.

Before choosing which international experience you’d like to be considered for, think about the commitment level required from you, the prep camp schedule and the costs and available funding.
Don’t worry if it’s not the right time for you – there’ll be more chances in the future so stay tuned!
All successful participants must sign a Code of Conduct. This ensures that everyone upholds Scouting values.
Parents will be asked to complete an agreement regarding payment and young person commitment to the process.
Failure to follow the code may result in the loss of a place on the trip.
