Expert water activities team for Scouts

The ScoutsCymru Water Activities Team (SWAT) is made up of 50 volunteers from all walks of life who are spread all around Wales.

Learning to enjoy the water across Wales with confidence

Enjoying the water and staying safe is a key part of Scouting. We’ve got lots of water-based badges you can earn. SWAT also offer specific courses for young people and Leaders. These go from basic canoeing or sailing days to advanced white water paddle sport qualifications or power boat safety qualifications. SWAT are extremely experienced and are affiliated with Canw Cymru, which is a recognised teaching establishment with the Royal Yachting Association (RYA).

National events on the water to get involved with

Every year SWAT hold 9 national events, where local leaders can bring groups of young people to try paddle sports and sailing. These activities take place in various locations across the country. If you want to find out more contact:
