Explorers meet weekly all over Wales

From Bangor to Barry, Explorers build their own adventures and bring others with them.

Being an Explorer in Wales

Explorers meet weekly, usually for around 1½ or 2 hours and the name says it all. Explorers are adventurous and heavily involved in organising their own weekly sessions, although they are overseen by local leaders. Many Explorers are seasoned Scouts, if you join as a novice, you will learn heaps from these people. Taking part will build confidence and resilience, we call this building skills for life.

Experienced people lead Explorers in Wales

Weekly sessions and outdoor adventures are overseen by a handful of very patient and qualified leaders. These people are all local volunteers who have been trained to keep young people safe and happy. We are always looking for helpers to get involved in Explorers.

More information about Explorers

Any young person aged 14 – 18 can become an Explorer. Lots of Explorers are experienced Scouts but it doesn’t matter if you’re brand new to Scouting. You can read all about Explorers on the Scouts UK website. This is the place to find out what the uniform looks like, the badges you’ll earn and what to expect when you join.
