We want people who take part in Welsh Scouting to feel safe

Whether you are a tiny Squirrel or a gigantic Explorer, our experienced leaders will look after you.

Leaders carefully plan all Scout activities

Scouting is about trying new things. We want everyone involved in weekly activities, trips and big adventures to get stuck in without worrying about being hurt. We create a risk assessment before each activity to work out what the risks are. Whether we’re making pancakes or scaling mountains, the session leader will have checked the risks and made a plan.

Experienced people lead Scouts in Wales

Weekly sessions are led by fully trained leaders, who are supported by our Scouting Support Team. These people are all volunteers who have been trained to keep young people safe and happy. Volunteers who work directly with young people have a DBS check. This is a government check and helps us make sure that our volunteers are good people to work with young people.

Safeguarding Scouts in Wales

The Welsh Government has strict rules about keeping young people safe, this is called ‘safeguarding’. We have made sure that we follow their guidelines carefully. ScoutsCymru is part of the wider Scouting family. You can find out more about the Scouts UK Safeguarding policy on their website.
