Annwyl/Dear ScoutsCymru members and supporters,
I hope this message finds you well and ready for the exciting adventures that lie ahead in the coming year! If we have not had the opportunity to meet, my name is Kerrie and I am the Director at ScoutsCymru.
It is with immense pleasure and gratitude that I reach out to you, reflecting on my first six months in the new role of Director at ScoutsCymru. This period has been a remarkable journey of discovery, collaboration, and a deep commitment to understanding how our staff can best support the incredible volunteers who deliver outstanding opportunities to young people across Wales.
In these initial months, my focus has been on listening, learning, and understanding the vibrant and thriving Scout community in Wales. It has been a privilege to spend time with our dedicated staff and volunteers as well as listening to our external partners and stakeholders, gaining insights into how we can better support volunteers in creating transformative experiences for our young people. The passion and dedication displayed by staff and volunteers have been truly inspiring, and I feel honoured to lead the staff team who are deeply committed to our shared mission.
This period of discovery has reinforced my belief in the extraordinary impact of Scouting. Witnessing the dedication of our volunteers and the positive influence they have on the lives of young people has been a source of immense pride. Every outdoor experience, every badge earned, and every adventure embarked upon is a testament to the hard work and commitment of our volunteers, and I am excited to be part of this dynamic community.
As we look ahead to this new year, I am eager to embark on the next phase of this collaborative journey. We know that this year requires us all to navigate change and the staff team will continue to evolve and enhance the support structures we offer, so that volunteers in Wales feel informed, empowered and equipped to create meaningful experiences for our Scouts.
I encourage each one of you to share your thoughts, ideas, and aspirations with us. Your input is invaluable as we collectively shape the future of ScoutsCymru. Whether you are a seasoned volunteer, a parent or carer, or a young person with dreams of new horizons, your perspectives contribute to the diverse and vibrant tapestry of Scouting in Wales.
Thank you for your warm welcome, unwavering support, dedication, and enthusiasm. Here’s to the next six months and beyond, filled with growth, collaboration, and the joy of creating unforgettable memories for the young people we are privileged to serve.
Diolch yn fawr iawn
Kerrie
