2020 has been a difficult year for all of us, and at this years Celebration of Scouting Awards we wanted to recognise and celebrate those that have gone above and beyond for Scouting in Wales during what has been an extremely turbulent year.

Each of the nominations we received were incredible and we couldn’t be prouder of our amazing volunteers!

So, to spread some positivity we wanted to share our winner’s stories with you!

Next up we’ve got Steve Brereton who won the Inspirational Volunteer Award.

Steve has been described as “an amazing leader” and someone “who goes above and beyond for the young people in Scouts. He inspires ideas, thoughts, knowledge, and truly is an inspiration.”

Steve is a role model for young people, being a person of his word, supportive, honest and trustworthy.

He sees everyone as equal and champions diversity by making Scouting a safe place for everyone where they can feel part of a family.

Steve embraces both learning and teaching. He works closely with other leaders to plan and implement an amazing program, ensuring his group has a range of lessons which help to develop skills for life.

Congratulations to Steve and thank you for your hard work and unwavering dedication to Scouting in Wales!
