Cornel is one of ScoutsCymru’s own Centres, set in the heart of Eryri and perfectly placed for adventures in the Carneddau, on the coast or underground. Every year we welcome thousands of young people for homely accommodation and unforgettable experiences – and now we’re building the team that makes it all happen.

We’re looking for volunteers to join us in the following roles:

Partnerships lead

Do you enjoy building relationships and making connections? If you know and love Eryri and North Wales or simply care about helping visitors get the most from their time here, this could be a great fit. You’ll help us link with local authorities, charities and organisations, opening up their resources for the groups who stay with us. You don’t need to be local, though popping to site occasionally is a real advantage.

Wardens team member

Are you practical, hands-on and happiest when things are neat, tidy and ready to use? As part of our warden team, you’ll help keep Cornel looking its best for the young people who visit. You’ll be on a one-in-six to one-in-eight rota to check the site, make sure everything is welcoming and carry out simple repairs when needed. Being local would be ideal, but enthusiasm and reliability matter most.

Bookings team member

Are you organised, friendly and love chatting to people? This role is all about being the welcoming first point of contact for Cornel. You’ll support the bookings lead by answering enquiries, managing bookings and sending out the key information groups need before they arrive. You don’t need to live nearby, but the occasional site visit is always a bonus.

Social media lead

Are you creative and able to tell a great story? Then this could be the perfect role for you. You’ll help grow Cornel’s online presence by sharing what makes this place so special – from the views to the adventures our visitors enjoy. Working with the bookings lead, you’ll shape our posts, showcase Cornel at its best and keep everyone connected. You don’t need to be local, though visiting site from time to time really helps bring the story to life.

If any of these sound like you or you have other skills that could support the team, please get in touch with Dexter Williams, Chair and Team Leader, at adam.williams@cornel-scouts.org.uk for an informal, no-pressure chat.
