The Celebration of Scouting Awards have taken place for another year and we couldn’t be prouder of all our winners.

In celebration of our winners, we are going to tell you a little bit about the amazing achievements of some of our ScoutsCymru superstars!

Next, we would like to introduce you to Daniel Reynolds from 1st Mynydd Isa Scout Group who won the Inspirational Volunteer Award.

Since joining the Group originally as an Assistant Scout Leader, Daniel has since taken on the role of Group Scout Leader and made an incredible difference. Taking a Scout building that needed TLC and reaching out to local companies for funding, Daniel facilitated a transformation of the building which has now become a community hub. It has incredible facilities that are able to accommodate not only the Scouts, but also the Brownies, Guides, the local diving centre and the local play group.

His passion for Scouting shone through with his challenging of Flintshire Council when they attempted to impose business council rates on Scout Huts, which may have resulted in mass closures. He took the issue all the way to the Welsh Assembly and won.

Although Daniel has an extremely busy job in the Police Force as a Chief Inspector, he has always found the time to help his Group. He works hard to inspire his Young People to reach their full potential and make the best life choices.

He teaches acceptance, always challenging any prejudice beliefs. He teaches people to have self-belief and confidence in themselves and wants to ensure that all his members succeed not only in Scouting but also their personal lives. Pushing everyone to be the very best that they can be, Daniel always credits his team and his Scouts for any success and has been described as simply “an amazing person.”

Thank you to Daniel for your continued hard work and congratulations on winning the Inspirational Volunteer Award!
