After more than six years of dedicated leadership as Chief Volunteer Wales, Rhian Moore will be stepping down from her role in September 2025. ScoutsCymru is now beginning the search for our next Chief Volunteer Wales to lead our movement forward.
Rhian has provided exceptional leadership during a transformative period for Scouts in Wales. Her time as Chief Volunteer has spanned the implementation of our ambitious Skills for Life strategy and guided our movement through the unprecedented challenges of the global pandemic.
Working collaboratively with ScoutsCymru staff and trustees, Rhian has ensured that our Areas, Districts, and Scout Groups received the support needed to deliver an amazing and exciting programme for young people across Wales. Her contributions as a leader have extended beyond our borders through her involvement with the UK Leadership Team, Operations Committee, and Strategy & Delivery Committee, where she has consistently ensured Wales’ voice is represented in national decision-making.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to Rhian for her unwavering dedication and passion for Scouting in Wales over these past six years. Her leadership has strengthened the Scouting movement in Wales, forged partnerships and helped countless young people develop skills for life.
“I have been very lucky to have had the opportunity to work alongside Rhian over the last 2 years, as a newcomer to Scouts, her support and guidance, knowledge and expertise in leading Scouts has been invaluable. On behalf of the ScoutsCymru staff team we thank Rhian for all her support and guidance over the last 6 years as Chief Volunteer”
Kerrie Gemmill CEO, ScoutsCymru.
As we begin the search for our next Chief Volunteer Wales, we’re seeking a passionate and visionary leader who will continue to drive our movement forward. This key volunteer leadership role will be instrumental in our efforts to provide Skills for Life to even more young people through our inclusive growth initiatives.
“It’s been a privilege to volunteer alongside Rhian over the last year and see her dedication and enthusiasm close up. These are big shoes to fill, but we know that there are dozens of brilliant people out there who could come and lead Team Cymru into the next phase of our development. Please do think about whether you, or someone you know, has what it takes, and be encouraged to take the leap into Chief Volunteer”.
