Yn dilyn ei llwyddiant y llynedd, pleser yw cyhoeddi y byddwn yn cynnal Senedd Ieuenctid Cymru ScoutsCymru am yr ail flwyddyn, yn Neuadd y Senedd 20 Hydref.
Senedd Ieuenctid ScoutsCymru
Gan weithio mewn partneriaeth â Cymru Global, bydd pobl ifanc yn dod yn gynrychiolwyr dros eu hardaloedd lleol am y diwrnod, gan gael profiad ymarferol o ymchwilio, trafod, dadlau a phleidleisio ar y materion sydd bwysicaf iddyn nhw, yng nghalon democratiaeth Cymru.
Bydd pobl ifanc yn cyflwyno ‘penderfyniad’ i’r Senedd Ieuenctid.
Bydd pobl ifanc yn cyflwyno ‘penderfyniad’ o’u hardal nhw i’r Senedd Ieuenctid. Mae penderfyniad yn gynnig ar gyfer dadl a gwneud penderfyniadau sydd fel arfer yn nodi gweithred, polisi neu ddatganiad penodol y gofynnir i’r Senedd gytuno arno.

Eleni, rydym eisiau i Senedd Ieuenctid Cymru ScoutsCymru fod yn fwy agored nag o’r blaen. Nid oes angen i chi fod yn Scout i gymryd rhan, rydym yn gwahodd pobl ifanc o ysgolion, clybiau ieuenctid a grwpiau cymunedol ledled Cymru i gymryd rhan ochr yn ochr â’n Scouts a’n Explorers. Yn benodol, rydym eisiau galluogi pobl ifanc nad ydynt fel arfer yn cael y cyfle i ymgysylltu â democratiaeth yn y ffordd hon, a dyna pam y gallwn gynnig costau teithio rhesymol, felly ni ddylai cost fod yn rhwystr i gymryd rhan.

Yn ScoutsCymru, rydym yn credu mai dod o hyd i’ch llais a chael yr hyder i’w ddefnyddio, beth bynnag fo’ch cefndir, yw un o’r sgiliau pwysicaf y gall person ifanc eu datblygu. Gyda phobl ifanc yng Nghymru yn gallu cofrestru i bleidleisio yn 14 oed a phleidleisio yn 16 oed, rydym wedi ymrwymo i helpu plant a phobl ifanc i ddeall sut mae democratiaeth yn gweithio a sut y gallant ddylanwadu ar y penderfyniadau sy’n effeithio ar eu bywydau. O Squirrels i Explorers, mae ScoutsCymru yn meithrin yr hyder hwn trwy gyfleoedd fel bathodyn Her Democratiaeth, hystingau ieuenctid a digwyddiadau fel Senedd Ieuenctid Cymru.

The ScoutsCymru Welsh Youth Parliament is back on the 20 October!
Following its success last year, we are so excited to be running the ScoutsCymru Welsh Youth Parliament for a second year, taking place in The Neuadd at the Senedd on Tuesday 20 October.
About the ScoutsCymru Youth Parliament
Working in partnership with Cymru Global, young people will become representatives for their local areas for the day, getting hands-on experience in research, discussion, debating and voting on the issues that matter most to them, right in the heart of Welsh democracy.
Young people will present a ‘resolution’ to the Youth Parliament
Young people will present a ‘resolution’ from their area to the Youth Parliament. A resolution is a motion for debate and decision-making that typically sets out a specific action, policy, or statement that the Senedd is asked to agree upon.
Open to all young people, not just Scouts
This year, we want the ScoutsCymru Welsh Youth Parliament to be more open than before. You don’t need to be a Scout to take part, we’re inviting young people from schools, youth clubs and community groups across Wales to get involved alongside our Scouts and Explorers. In particular, we want to enable young people who don’t usually get the opportunity to engage with democracy in this way, which is why we can fund reasonable travel costs, so cost shouldn’t be a barrier to taking part.
ScoutsCymru helps young people understand democracy and politics
At ScoutsCymru, we believe that finding your voice and having the confidence to use it, whatever your background, is one of the most important skills a young person can develop. With young people in Wales able to register to vote at 14 and vote at 16, we’re committed to helping children and young people understand how democracy works and how they can influence the decisions that affect their lives. From Squirrels through to Explorers, ScoutsCymru builds this confidence through opportunities such as the Democracy Challenge badge, youth hustings and events like the Welsh Youth Parliament.

Spaces for the event are limited, so please let us know or sign-up by 13 September 2026 if you’d like to be part of our ScoutsCymru Welsh Youth Parliament. We may close registration before the 13 September 2026 if the maximum number of participants is reached.
The ScoutsCymru Welsh Youth Parliament is a unique opportunity for young people aged 14–18 from across Wales to experience Welsh democracy first hand.
Working in partnership with Cymru Global, participants become representatives for their local areas for the day, researching, discussing, debating and voting on issues that matter to young people across Wales, just as Members of the Senedd do.
The event is designed to help young people understand how democracy works in Wales, build confidence and develop skills that will stay with them for life.
The event takes place on Tuesday 20 October 2026 in The Neuadd at the Senedd in Cardiff, home of the Welsh Parliament.
The day will run from 10.00am until 3.00pm, with participants expected to arrive at 9:30am.

No. You don’t need any experience of politics, debating or public speaking. The event is designed for everyone, whether you’ve taken part in something similar before or not.
All you need is enthusiasm, curiosity and a willingness to get involved.

The event is open to all young people aged 14–18 across Wales. You do not need to be a Scout to take part.
We’re keen to hear from young people in schools, youth clubs, community organisations and Scout Groups, particularly those who may not usually have opportunities to engage with democracy.
Absolutely. Please encourage any young people who you think would enjoy the experience to apply.
Leaders, teachers and youth workers do not need to attend on the day, as the event will be supported by appropriately permitted adult volunteers.
No. There is no charge to attend the event.
Yes. We can fund reasonable travel costs so that young people from all parts of Wales are able to take part. We don’t want cost to be a barrier.
Yes. Refreshments and lunch will be provided during the day. We’ll ask about any dietary requirements before the event.
Not at all. We have template letters that young people can give to their school explaining the educational value of attending the event.

With young people in Wales able to register to vote from the age of 14 and vote in Senedd elections from the age of 16, this event will help you better understand democracy while developing valuable skills in communication, teamwork, research and critical thinking.

The ScoutsCymru Welsh Youth Parliament is designed to give you a realistic experience of discussing, debating and making decisions on issues that matter to young people in Wales.
Here’s what you can expect during the day.
Before arriving at the Senedd, you’ll take part in online prep session where you’ll:
You’ll arrive at The Neuadd, Senedd for 9:30am, where you’ll have time to register, meet the other participants and get settled before the event begins.
We’ll introduce the programme for the day, explain how the debates will work and make sure everyone understands their role.
You’ll also meet the adult volunteers and facilitators who will be supporting you throughout the event.
Working with your partner, you’ll present a short speech introducing your local area and explaining how the chosen issue affects young people where you live.
You’ll also have the opportunity to ask questions and hear how the issue affects other parts of Wales.
Once everyone has shared their opening speeches, you’ll begin working with participants from across Wales to:
This is where teamwork, listening and negotiation become just as important as speaking.
There will be a break for lunch and refreshments, giving everyone an opportunity to continue conversations and get to know other participants. We’ll cater for dietary requirements that you’ve told us about in advance.
In the afternoon, each group will present its final resolution (their proposed idea or solution for improving the issue they have been discussing). Participants will debate the proposals, ask questions and explain why they support or oppose each idea before taking part in a formal vote.
Just like in the Senedd, not every proposal will be agreed, so you’ll need to persuade others and work collaboratively throughout the day.
We’ll finish by reflecting on the day, celebrating everyone’s contribution and thinking about how the skills you’ve developed can help you make a difference in your own community.
By the end of the day, you’ll have experienced democracy in action, built confidence in speaking and presenting, developed your research, teamwork and critical thinking skills, and gained a better understanding of how decisions are made in Wales. Whether or not you’ve taken part in debating before, the ScoutsCymru Welsh Youth Parliament is designed to be a welcoming, supportive and enjoyable experience for everyone.
