Could you help Scouts Cymru inspire our international adventures, coordinate community impact projects, or create a comprehensive inclusion strategy?
We are actively looking for new members for our senior volunteer team – and we would love to hear from you.
Every week, around 6,000 volunteers keep ScoutsCymru running. From parent helpers at a new Squirrels Drey to Area Commissioners who have been volunteering for decades, their time and skills give more than 14,000 young people skills for life every single week.
However, we’ll be honest with you. We are struggling to find volunteers for our senior volunteer team.
These key senior national roles help lead the development, growth and delivery of Scouting to meet the strategic objectives and long-term vision of ScoutsCymru and The Scout Association.
These vital positions help manage volunteer teams, deliver a comprehensive inclusion strategy, develop links with community leaders, liaise with relevant Welsh Government, statutory and voluntary sector agencies in Wales.
If you’re curious to know more, we’d love to have a no-obligation, confidential chat with you to outline the positions in more detail. We’re also happy to listen to the skills and experience you already have, and the areas you’d like to develop, and to suggest a role which might suit you.
Equally, if you think one of these positions would be perfect for you in a few years’ time, we can advise you of suitable stepping stone roles to help prepare you.
While many of our senior volunteers have come through the Scouting ranks, you don’t have to have been a life-long Scout to apply for any of these roles. In fact, you don’t have to be a Scout at all – external perspectives can often help us see things differently.
ScoutsCymru is proud to deliver Skills for Life – not just to our children and young people but to our adult volunteers too. Our volunteers tell us their Scouting responsibilities and opportunities enable them to progress in their own careers. They also find it rewarding to share their skills for a greater purpose, to give something back, and to be part of a welcoming and supportive community, not just in Wales or the UK, but as part of the global Scouting movement.
For more information on the senior volunteering roles at ScoutsCymru, fill in the form below by Friday 26 January 2024 and we will be in touch with more information or you can email us on admin@scoutscymru.org.uk
We’d love to hear from you
