This Volunteers’ Week (1–7 June 2026), ScoutsCymru is celebrating the thousands of volunteers who make Scouting possible across Wales. They are people of all ages and backgrounds who give their time to support young people every single week.
From young leaders taking their first steps into volunteering to those who have supported generations of young people, Scouting in Wales is powered by individuals who bring energy, commitment and care to everything they do.
The impact of volunteers will be seen throughout June. Hundreds of volunteers are gearing up to deliver the All Wales Scout Camp (AWSC) 2026, taking place from 12–14 June at the Royal Welsh Showground in Builth Wells. Bringing together Scout groups from across Wales, the camp will offer a packed weekend of activity, friendship and new experiences and all made possible by volunteers working behind the scenes and on the ground.
Chief Volunteer for ScoutsCymru, Jon Williams, said:
“Volunteers are at the heart of Scouting, and the difference they make across Wales is extraordinary. Whether they’ve been involved for decades or have only just started their journey, every volunteer plays a part in creating opportunities for young people to grow, develop and feel they belong.”
ScoutsCymru Youth Lead, Lowri Williams, added:
“Volunteers’ Week is a chance to recognise that young people are volunteers too. We’re ready and willing to help shape, lead and deliver what Scouting looks like today. It’s great to see that recognised and to be part of something where young people’s voices genuinely matter.”
To every volunteer – thank you. From those leading weekly sessions to those supporting events, mentoring young people or stepping in when needed, your time and dedication make Scouting in Wales what it is.
