Chair of Finance Committee (Treasurer)

ScoutsCymru is seeking a strategic and experienced finance professional to join our Board of Trustees as Chair of the Finance & Resources Committee.
This is a key leadership role, overseeing the development of our financial strategy and ensuring robust budget setting, financial controls, asset management and regulatory compliance. You will work closely with the Chair of Trustees, fellow Board members and staff to provide confident financial oversight, sound judgement and clear reporting, including presenting the annual accounts at our AGM.
We are looking for a professionally qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA or equivalent) with experience in finance governance and a strong understanding of charity accounting.
As part of our commitment to strengthening governance across Wales, we are keen to build a diverse Board that reflects the communities we serve. We particularly welcome applications from women, people from minority ethnic backgrounds, disabled people and LGBTQ+ individuals.

Chair, Yr Hafod Scout Centre Management Committee

ScoutsCymru is seeking an experienced and strategic leader to serve as Chair of the Yr Hafod Scout Centre Management Committee.
Yr Hafod is a vital part of Scouting in Wales. It’s a centre that enables adventure, skills development and unforgettable experiences for young people. As Chair, you will provide governance and strategic oversight of the Centre’s management, maintenance and long-term development, operating under the authority of the ScoutsCymru Board of Trustees.
You will lead the Management Committee in delivering strong governance, effective decision-making and robust oversight of risk, safety, safeguarding and financial management. Working closely with the CEO, volunteers and staff, you will guide the development of a rolling five-year plan, oversee annual budgets and risk registers, and ensure compliance with The Scout Association’s Policy, Organisation and Rules and wider regulatory requirements.
This role also involves external engagement such as building positive relationships with key stakeholders including the National Trust (as landlord), Eryri National Park, Natural Resources Wales and Scouts UK teams, while championing the Centre across the wider Scout Movement in Wales.

We are now seeking a passionate and experienced volunteer to serve as our national Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Lead for Wales.
This is a strategic and influential role, responsible for championing inclusion across Wales and supporting volunteers to create environments where everyone belongs. You will work closely with Area EDI Leads, the Wales Development and Support Lead to strengthen inclusive practice across regions, areas and districts.
We are looking for someone with a strong understanding of equality, diversity and inclusion principles, experience of influencing and supporting others, and a genuine commitment to making Scouting in Wales accessible and welcoming to all.
